Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information PlasmaStream ("we", "us", and "our") collects, how we use it, and your choices. PlasmaStream is an independent service operated from the United States. You can contact us anytime at houtenbusiness@gmail.com.

Information we collect

• Streamer account information. When you sign in with Twitch, we receive your Twitch user id, login and display name, email address, and follower count through Twitch's login. We use this to create and identify your channel.
• Payment information. If you subscribe to Premium, or donate to a channel, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. For Premium we keep a Stripe customer identifier and your subscription's status and renewal date. For a donation we keep the amount, the Stripe identifiers for the payment, the display name and any message you attached, and which channel it was for.
• Payout information, if you withdraw earnings. Setting up withdrawals sends you to Stripe, which collects what it needs to pay you and to meet its own legal obligations: your legal name, date of birth, address, bank details, and a tax identifier. That information goes to Stripe, not to us. We never see or store your bank details or tax identifier. What we keep is the Stripe account identifier, whether Stripe has cleared you to be paid, the country the account was opened in, and a record of each withdrawal you make.
• Viewer and chat data. To run a channel's economy, we process the Twitch user id, username, and display name of people who chat in channels where the bot is active, along with the in-app data we generate for them, such as currency balances and activity, all from public chat participation. If you sign in as a viewer, to see your points or to buy from a channel's shop, we also record your Twitch user id, login, and display name. Buying a followers-only or subscribers-only item on the web asks Twitch for permission to read whether you follow or subscribe to that channel; we store the resulting Twitch token encrypted and use it only to confirm you qualify, at the moment you buy.
• Technical data. Our servers record basic technical information such as IP address, timestamps, and error logs, for security and reliability.
• Website analytics. To understand how the site is used and how many visits lead to sign-ups, we set two first-party cookies with random identifiers (a session id and a visitor id) and record anonymous, aggregate information: a count of page views, the page a visit first landed on, the referring website's host, whether the visit is on a desktop or mobile device, and an approximate country. That country is inferred only from your browser's time zone, never from your IP address, so it is coarse and does not pinpoint you. This part is first-party only and holds nothing that identifies you personally. You can clear or block these cookies in your browser at any time.
• Advertising measurement. We advertise PlasmaStream, and we use the Meta Pixel to measure whether those ads work. It runs on our public pages and dashboard (never on the browser-source overlay) and reports page views, sign-ups, and purchases to Meta, along with the cookies it sets, your IP address, and your browser's user agent. We also send Meta a record of completed purchases from our own servers so the measurement survives an interrupted browser; that server-side copy includes your email address and your Twitch user id hashed before they are sent, so Meta receives an irreversible fingerprint rather than the address itself, along with the amount of the purchase. Meta may use this to attribute a sale to an ad and to build advertising audiences under its own privacy policy. A browser-level tracker blocker, or "Limit Ad Tracking" on your device, stops the in-browser half; the server-side half only ever concerns a purchase you actually made.
• Ads shown to you. We may show ads in the margins of the signed-in dashboard, and nowhere else: not on the public pages, not on a channel’s page, and never on the browser-source overlay, so an ad can never reach your stream. When an advertising network is switched on, it sets its own cookies and receives your IP address and browser user agent in order to serve and count the ad, under its own privacy policy. When no network is switched on, those slots carry our own notices about PlasmaStream and nothing is sent anywhere. Ads are what keep every feature free rather than behind a paywall.

Information shown publicly

Most of what we hold is private to you and your channel. Two things are not, and it is worth being clear about them.

If you donate to a channel, the display name on your account and any message you attach are shown on that streamer's broadcast and kept in their dashboard. The amount is visible to that streamer. Do not put anything in a message you would not want an audience to see.

Public leaderboards and channel pages show display names and in-channel standings for channels that switch those features on. Both come from public Twitch chat participation.

How we use information

We use information to operate and maintain the Service, run per-channel economies, process and manage Premium subscriptions, take and record donations and pay streamers what they are owed, provide support, keep the Service secure, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations including tax and financial record-keeping.

Legal bases

Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Service, Premium, and to take donations and pay out earnings), our legitimate interests (to run and secure the Service and to prevent fraud), your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations (including tax and financial record-keeping).

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run PlasmaStream: Twitch (to log you in and read and send chat through its API), Stripe (to process payments, to verify the identity of anyone withdrawing earnings, and to pay them), Meta (to measure our advertising, as described under "Advertising measurement" above), and Bot-Hosting.net (our hosting and database provider). We may also disclose information if required by law.

Stripe handles the identity and bank information behind withdrawals as its own controller, under Stripe’s privacy policy, and it issues any tax forms it is required to issue. If you withdraw earnings, that relationship is between you and Stripe as well as between you and us.

Data retention

We keep information for as long as your channel uses the Service and as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete your data (see "Your rights").

Records of money are the exception. Where a payment, a donation, or a withdrawal has happened, we keep the record of it for as long as tax, accounting, and anti-fraud rules require, even if you ask us to delete everything else. We will delete or anonymize what we are not required to keep.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email us at houtenbusiness@gmail.com. You can also disconnect PlasmaStream from your Twitch account at any time in your Twitch settings.

International transfers

We operate from the United States, and information may be processed there. If you use the Service from outside the US, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the US.

Children

PlasmaStream is not directed at children under 13, and you must meet Twitch's minimum age to use it. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no online service can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date above when we do.
